Marketo Co-Founders Back Together At Engagio

Published: August 18, 2017

Phil Fernandez, Co-founder, former CEO and Chairman of Marketo, has joined the account-based marketing and sales company Engagio on an advisory level. The move puts him in partnership with his fellow Marketo co-founder Jon Miller, who left the company to launch Engagio in 2015.

“There have been so many times that I wished I could ask Phil about how he handled a similar experience at Marketo,” said Miller in an interview with Demand Gen Report. “I’ve wanted him to be part of the Engagio journey for a while now, and I’m thrilled he’s agreed to provide his advice and support.”

After stepping down from his role at Marketo following its $1.8 billion acquisition, Fernandez moved onto Director roles at Gigya, PTC and YEXT. In January 2017, he became a venture partner at Shasta Ventures.

“I’m passionate about fostering success across the entrepreneurial community,” said Fernandez in a blog post announcement. “Advising Engagio is a singular opportunity to work with Jon and the team to build the next great marketing technology company. I believe Engagio has the potential to transform the growth trajectory of organizations with practical marketing solutions that will set the pace for the next decade — and move the dialogue forward.”
