The Director Global Marketing Communications, is responsible for defining and implementing Company’s go-to-market messaging, positioning and strategy through the delivery of an integrated marketing communications strategy and implementation of plan.
This newly created leadership position will be responsible for leading and managing the corporate re-branding initiative. Defining the global brand strategy, brand system, communications framework/platform and brand guidelines is a critical responsibility of this function. The ideal candidate has 15+ years previous experience working in the global application software industry, managing external agencies and internal resources to achieve success in these areas:
-Brand Development -Brand Awareness -Web Strategy -Content management including web -Print and on-demand collateral -Public, Media and Analyst Relations -Thought Leadership -Third Party Evangelism -Company Image and Product Visibility -Strategic Thinking and Tactical Excellence -Events and conferences – third party, user groups, etc -Leveraging social networking
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: In order of priority/importance
• Develop and maintain the Company brand platform, including vision, category, audience, value, differentiation, personality and police the brand • Develop a brand communications system that includes corporate identity, templates, business communication system, website, and collateral, • Create and execute on a complete global integrated marketing communications plan and manage to budget • Build and manage a global marketing communications function that supports Company’s goal of global software leadership • Hire and manage team of marcom professionals and network of agencies to support our global communications effort • Evaluate, select and manage outside vendors that contribute to branding, awareness and lead generation including interactive/direct marketing agencies, SEO experts, designers, copywriters, email campaign providers, lead nurturing providers • Serve as internal strategic communications resource to product, services and sales and executive teams on all communication matters • Define the company’s public, media and analyst relations strategies and programs including definition of metrics for success • Manage the creative and messaging for corporate and product advertising and produce appropriate online and print advertising plan • Coach and develop marketing communications team • Conduct industry benchmarking to understand materials, strategies, successes and failures of other companies with similar aspirations and market development challenges.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Knowledge and Experience Requirements: In order of priority/importance
• B.A. or B.S. Degree • 10-15 years experience combining both agency and client/corporate experience promoting and marketing enterprise applications and solutions (EAM, Resource Planning, Fixed Asset Management, CMMS) • Must understand the balance between global direction and local execution and how to make things happen with executives, team members and agencies in multiple locations around the world • Demonstrated skills in successfully positioning and differentiating enterprise software products • Articulate and persuasive communicator with strong verbal & written communication skills, proficient in PowerPoint & Excel and emerging Web 2.0 social network marketing tools and techniques (e.g. LinkedIn, HubSpot, blogs, podcasts). • Extensive knowledge of interactive and creative marketing assets and programs • Excellent analytical skills with ability to interview, extract ,assimilate and present information • Proven track record of teaming with sales organizations and adding value to the sales process
