Silverpop Grows Reseller Channel And Adds EU Data Center

The network now offers Silverpop a presence in Australia/APAC, Africa, Latin America, and Eastern Europe with reseller relationships among partners such as Nitryx, Grapevine, Engage Digital, Entera and VIV.

This reality is expected to present a continued opportunity for the automation space, as more companies look to transform their sales and marketing strategies.

Despite more than 1,500 new companies deploying marketing automation in 2010, many analysts were disappointed with the growth curve for the category last year. As a broader range of industry verticals are seeing the benefits of automation technologies, industry insiders are projecting growth rates will continue to climb this year.

Marketing Automation Vendors Chime In On Implications of Marketo’s New Funding

The recent news of Marketo’s $50 million round of new venture financing has stirred plenty of dialogue among other vendors in the marketing automation category. While competitors applauded the new round of, led by Battery Ventures, in supporting the growth of the category, they also speculated on what impact Marketo’s funding and potential funding will have in the future.

 “I think this is great for the marketing software industry,” HubSpot CMO Mike Volpe told DemandGen Report. “For too long marketing teams have suffered with outdated and inadequate software.”

In announcing the new round, Marketo CEO Phil Fernandez pointed out that the company 2010 revenue came in at $14 million, and projected sales in 2011 would grow by 140%, putting revenue in the $35 million range. He also forecasted that Marketo’s revenue would double in 2012, and said there is a “strong possibility” of an IPO in the next 12 to 15 months.

Silverpop Exceeds 1,500 Customers; Partner Program Drives 20% Of New Business in 2011

Additionally, a third of current Silverpop customers are now using at least one Silverpop partner to complement their marketing efforts through Engage. The company launched the SilverLining Partner Network in August 2011.

At the close of Q3 2011, Atlanta, GA-based Silverpop reported its customer base grew to more than 1,500, with 100 new customers added in Q3. New customers include: Adecco, nTelos Wireless, Yamaha WaterCraft Group , Wayne State University and Park ‘N Fly. Additionally, Silverpop has recently recognized 115 customers as “Engage Certified,” after demonstrating they have successfully mastered the Engage product through a two-part assessment test.

recently announced significant growth in its first quarter year-over-year sales performance. The company reported a 50% increase in closed new business compared to Q1 2011.  Additionally, Silverpop increased its professional services revenue by 60% and partner-generated new business by nearly 500%, also as compared to Q1 2011.

Silverpop's new customer wins span a variety of industries. Newly added clients this quarter include Acuity Brands Lighting, Malwarebytes Corporation, Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), WOMMA (Word of Mouth Marketing Association), Wilton Industries, Stonyfield and U-T San Diego.

Survey Shows Converting Leads Into Opportunities Tops BtoB Priority List

With revenue generation an ongoing challenge for many organizations, a new survey conducted by Silverpop confirms that BtoB marketers will be focusing more on the lead-to-sales funnel over the next 12 months, especially on the conversion of leads to opportunities. Based on responses from 446 marketers, the Silverpop study found nearly one quarter (24%) said “ensuring qualified leads are converting into appropriate sales opportunities.” was their top priority.
