Moz, a SEO software provider, announced plans to acquire STAT Search Analytics, a rank tracking and search engine results page (SERP) analytics company. The announcement was made in a joint video blog post featuring Moz CEO Sarah Bird and STAT CEO Rob Bucci. The financial terms of the acquisition were undisclosed.

With this acquisition, Moz aims to expand its search results data and analytics capabilities, as well as increase the flexibility of its enterprise solution offerings.

“By acquiring STAT, we’re living up to our promise of providing our customers with the tools they need to be the best at marketing, specifically SEO,” said Bird in a statement to Demand Gen Report. “Combining STAT and Moz’s offering solidifies Moz as the most robust organic search solution in an industry that is becoming increasingly competitive and fast-paced. This acquisition will help marketers gain the data and insights they need to connect organizations with the people who are searching for their offerings, rather than make assumptions.”

According to the company, Moz plans to expand STAT’s Vancouver team with Bucci serving as VP of Research and Development. The combined companies will serve clients including eBay, American Airlines, Trivago and more. Moz also stated that it expects to release new integrated solutions for enterprises next year.

“The STAT team has an immense amount of respect and admiration for Moz and I have personally looked to Moz, specifically for its culture of innovation and transparency, as a company to emulate over the years,” said Bucci in a statement. “Joining together puts us in a stronger position to build the future both faster and better than before and create search solutions that will change the industry.”
