Emerald Holding Inc., a leading B2B event and parent company of Demand Gen Report (DGR), has completed the acquisition of Advertising Week (AW), a global event and thought leadership platform focused on marketing, media, technology and culture. The acquisition positions Emerald to build on its position in the B2B marketing industry which serves the martech community via DGR and its B2B Marketing Exchange in-person series.
Since its founding in 2004, AW has built a global live and virtual event franchise and year-round global content platform that features best-in-class E-learning from leading practitioners (AWLearn), as well as original audio, video and editorial content (AW360). The franchise includes AWNewYork (NYC flagship); AWEurope (London); AWAsia (Tokyo); AWLATAM (Mexico City); and AWAPAC (Sydney). The acquisition intends to help accelerate AW’s expansion and growth by providing access to Emerald’s businesses, which include SMBs across various sectors, as well as retail and design portfolios.
AW serves the advertising, marketing, media and technology industries with a diverse collection of virtual, in-person and hybrid event offerings. Specifically, the company:
- Has more than 100,000 annual attendees at its hybrid events;
- Hosts more than 3,000 speakers per year;
- Produces more than 1,000 video content hours; and
- Generates more than 25 billion event PR impressions.
Following the acquisition, all AW employees will join Emerald to provide their exceptional knowledge and experience in the event and content platforms.
