HP To Leverage Microsoft To Streamline Sales, Replacing Salesforce, Oracle Solutions

Deal shake shutterstockMicrosoft has entered a six-year agreement with HP to deploy its Dynamics CRM solution — as well as Azure, Office 365 and other Cloud solutions — to HP’s 6,500 salespeople and 20,000 support personnel. The companies have not disclosed the value of the deal.

HP has invested in the sales and service collaboration platform to deliver a more streamlined sales experience to customers and partners as part of an ongoing effort to transform its sales and partner environment and boost productivity, according to a release. HP’s sales, service and marketing professionals will also use Microsoft Office 365 for productivity and collaboration, and the IT team will use Microsoft Azure, a global, hybrid cloud for all of the solutions.

“For us it was a natural move to look at one combined vendor end-to-end,” said HP COO Jon Flaxman, in an interview with Fortune. “We want to drive big data and analytics and we had a compelling need for our sales teams and channel teams to simplify, modernize and speed was critical.”

Prior to the agreement, HP’s sales team used Salesforce CRM, while its support team leveraged Oracle solutions. Microsoft beat out both competitors to provide a combined solution for both departments.
