Salesforce.com Announces Acquisition Of Jigsaw To Fuel Data Services Entry

In another sign that M&A activity may be heating up, Salesforce.com today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Jigsaw, a leader in crowd-sourced data services. The details of the deal include an approximate $142M cash purchase price, plus a performance-based contingent earn out of up to 10% of the purchase price. The deal is expected to close in Q2FY11, subject to customary closing conditions.

CDC Software’s Investment In Marketbright May Signal M&A Activity Within Automation Space

CDC Software Corp., a publicly-traded provider of enterprise software applications which has been on an aggressive acquisition path, recently announced an agreement to make a strategic investment in marketing automation vendor Marketbright. In addition, CDC Software has agreed to develop a strategic relationship with Marketbright whereby both companies are expected to resell each other's solutions and potentially expand the relationship into other strategic activities.

New Research Shows BtoB Marketers Still Lack ROI Measurement Capabilities

BtoB marketers are making progress with automating their sales and marketing processes, but a new research study shows there is still substantial room for improvement in managing leads and sharing data across sales force and marketing automation systems.

Recent research from the Sales Lead Management Association (SLMA) found that 64.9% of BtoB marketers cannot track ROI, while 58% do not qualify inquiries prior to lead distribution.
