The entire Demand Gen Report team and I are still on a high from the epic show that was the B2B Marketing Exchange. (I’m currently writing this blog post from the airport as I wait to board my red-eye back to New Jersey.) It’s crazy to think that it’s all over. All the hard work we put into planning the event for a year and putting together a jam-packed agenda to ensure our 1,200+ attendees had a chance to learn, network and party in Scottsdale, Ariz. for three days really paid off. It was our biggest and best event to date!
I wanted to take this blog post to highlight special events and some of my favorite quotes from our incredible speakers throughout the three days.
Whether you were a speaker, sponsor, attendee or simply following along on Twitter, THANK YOU for helping us make #B2BMX the massive success that it was. We couldn’t have done it without you.
If you’re looking to relive the fun, check out the coverage Demand Gen Report has published so far:
…There’s plenty more where that came from! As soon as I am back in the office, I will crank out some more.
Oh, and don’t forget to immerse yourself in our interactive 2020 Killer Content Awards Report here. (Shout out to our insanely talented design team for bringing my and Alicia Esposito’s Coachella theme to life. The report looks so cool, I want to nominate it for a Killer Content Award myself.)
On the first day of B2BMX, we held a special awards ceremony to honor more than 30 B2B companies who really set the bar with their content and campaigns. We had hundreds of nominations for our Killer Content Awards and it was so hard to narrow it down this year. Congratulations to all of the finalists and winners who took home a coveted “Finny” trophy!
And what's #B2BMX without a killer kick-off party? Attendees had a chance to mingle under the palm trees and stars at the Hyatt, while enjoying tacos, margaritas and gondola rides.
Editor Picks: Tops Quotes From #B2BMX
I love this quote by Thomas Merton that our keynote speaker Todd Henry shared during his presentation.
If there is one thing I know about B2BMX, it’s that all of our attendees walk away with real, actionable takeaways to bring back to the office and share with their org. I’ve had numerous conversations with B2B marketers throughout the years about how what they’ve learned at B2BMX has helped them executive successful strategies.
If you didn’t make it to the event to get your golden nuggets of insight, here are some of my favorite quotes from the event to inspire you! Plus, check out some of the awesome #KeynoteInks created by our friends at Kingman Ink and Quarry from our attendees’ tweets.
“Humans are not rational decision-makers; we’re rationalizing decision-makers. What new information can you provide [your customers] that’s consistent with both the perspective they have and the perspective they want you to have?” —Tamsen Webster, Follow the Red Thread
“I’ve seen [marketing] teams make the mistake of using a tool to 30% of its capabilities. Mature the tools you have and squeeze the most value out of them before you ask for the new shiny object.” —Jeff Marcoux, TTEC
“The pendulum is swinging from totally online to reallocating marketing to offline tactics. Online, millennials want frictionless interactions, but offline, [they have] a yearning for real, human interactions.” —Julian Lina, Fond
“The holy grail of B2B marketing is that we want to reach out to customers at the time they’re ready to buy. Many platforms say they will do this but fail miserably. I think AI may actually have a shot at helping us reach that holy grail.” —Pam Didner, Relentless Pursuit LLC
Thanks again to everyone who made B2BMX a great success. My team and I are excited to start planning next year’s event. We’ll be at a new location next year — at the super-luxe Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz. on Feb. 22-24, 2021. We hope to see you there!
