eBay Bolsters Machine Learning Capabilities With SalesPredict Acquisition

eBay announced it has agreed to acquire SalesPredict, an Israel-based predictive analytics company. SalesPredict is eBay’s latest acquisition intended to support its artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science efforts. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Upon the close of the transaction, some of SalesPredict’s employees will join eBay’s structured data organization, working from eBay’s Israeli Development Center in Netanya. SalesPredict Co-Founder and CEO Yaron Zakai-Or will serve as a Director of Product Management, Technology; and SalesPredict Co-Founder and CTO Kira Radinsky will become Director of Data Science & Chief Scientist, eBay Israel. Zakai-Or and eBay’s Abby Smith, Senior Director, Corporate Communications, would not comment on staffing levels at SalesPredict post-acquisition.

“The vision for SalesPredict is to mostly use it internally at eBay to improve the buyers’ and sellers’ experiences,” Zakai-Or said. He added that SalesPredict will not be sold “to new customers, but we’re committed to the success of our current customer base.”  

According to Smith, “Ebay has a major effort underway to better understand our inventory [and] our structured data process. This acquisition will help us have greater insights into the inventory. It will help us understand which inventory and product attributes we should emphasize,” she said.

SalesPredict Reports 14X Year-Over-Year Revenue Increase

Predictive marketing platform provider SalesPredict announced that the company has seen 14-times increase in revenue compared to the previous year. The revenue growth positions the company to expand its employee base and grow its share of the B2B predictive analytics market.

By using predictive analytics in conjunction with data from CRM and marketing automation system as well as external sources, SalesPredict is designed to help B2B marketers to target more effectively, as well as boost lead qualification and conversion rates.

The company also announced the hiring of Sahil Mansuri as its VP of Strategic Sales. Prior to joining SalesPredict, Mansuri was the VP of Operations at Virool, a native video advertising company.

“We have experienced exponential revenue growth this year and are excited to be able to support our rapidly growing customer base by adding additional staff,” said SalesPredict Co-founder and CEO, YaronZakai-Or. “Our revenue growth shows that smart B2B companies, such as Showpad and Virool, are increasingly recognizing that predictive insights can help them target the most likely buyers, improve their demand gen results, align marketing and sales, and ultimately, drive more revenue.”

 

SalesPredict Announces Partnership With HG Data

SalesPredict HGData placeitSalesPredict and HG Data have announced a data partnership which will bring together SalesPredict’s predictive scoring algorithm and HG Data’s competitive intelligence on installed technologies.

The alliance is designed to help B2B companies target inbound and outbound marketing efforts more effectively and gain deeper insight into the segments where they are most successful.
