Intercom, a customer messaging platform, has released new chatbot technology designed to accelerate sales by helping users create their own custom bots without code.
The new technology, dubbed Custom Bots, is designed to bring messenger apps and bots together to unlock new levels of automation for businesses looking to scale. Businesses are positioned to develop and connect customized bots with the 100+ workflow apps available on the Intercom App Store, including Salesforce, HubSpot and Marketo. This enables sales teams to end every bot conversation with an actionable, personalized next step, accelerating the sales process and improving the customer experience, according to the company.
“We think the technology is ripe and businesses are now ready to adopt chatbots — we now know what contexts they work best in,” said Matt Hodges, VP of Commercial Product Strategy at Intercom, in a statement to Demand Gen Report. “When messengers and bots are used together, in the right way, they drive massive business growth. Our data shows that website visitors are 82% more likely to convert if they’ve engaged in live chat and interactions with bots increase conversion by 36%.”
