Salesforce Expands Alliance With Amazon Web Services To Broaden Data Offerings

Published: December 5, 2016

Salesforce announced it has expanded its global strategic alliance with Amazon Web Service (AWS). The two companies will deliver new service integrations in mid-2017 that they said are designed to streamline how customers capture, analyze and act on their data.

The alliance enables Salesforce customers to use the company’s core services, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Analytics Cloud, on the AWS cloud infrastructure, they said. Additionally, the companies will deliver integrations to connect the Salesforce platform with Amazon services, such as AppStream 2.0, Redshift and Alexa.

B2B marketers will be able to analyze large datasets through a connected analytics solution with Salesforce Wave Analytics and Amazon Redshift, a data warehouse service. The two companies are building a new connector that integrates data from Amazon Redshift to Salesforce’s Wave Analytics solution to enable businesses to explore information, track insights and take action from a greater variety and volume of data, the companies said.

“These new integrations across business intelligence, IoT, and developer tools will make it easier for our joint customers to analyze data and build new applications,” said Andy Jassy, CEO of AWS, in a statement.
