ActiveCampaign Raises $240 M To Enhance CXA Platform

Published: April 22, 2021

ActiveCampaign, a customer experience (CX) automation company, raised $240 million in a Series C financial round, which brings its total funding to $360 million. The round was led by Tiger Global, Dragoneer Investment Group, and existing investors Silversmith Capital Partners and Susquehanna Growth Equity Growth Equity.

ActiveCampaign is a CRM platform that specializes in email marketing and marketing and sales automation, helping its users create personalized, segmented customer experiences that drive engagement. The company has worked with companies such as United Center, Creatd and more to automate their workflows, and build scalable customer experiences.

With the influx of capital, ActiveCampaign plans to enhance its customer experience automation (CXA) platform, and help users improve their customer experiences on a global scale. The company also plans to expand and accelerate its partner ecosystem to provide customers with the best solutions and value.

“While ActiveCampaign is 18 years old, we started in 2016 with 15 people and were completely bootstrapped before our Series A with Silversmith,” said Jason VandeBoom, Founder and CEO of ActiveCampaign, in a statement. “To have reached over 850 team members and over 145,000 customers in five years is incredible. We have used our own platform to achieve this growth, proving CXA is game-changing. I’m excited to welcome Tiger Global and Dragoneer as investors, and want to thank SGE and Silversmith for their ongoing investment and support, as this funding will allow us to further lead the CXA category, critical for companies to reach their growth potential.”
