Salesforce and IBM announced that they have expanded their strategic partnership in an effort bring together IBM’s Cloud and Watson services with Salesforce’s Quip and Service Cloud Einstein offerings. The expanded partnership positions both companies to help their customers better connect and engage with prospective customers, while also enhancing collaboration capabilities with deeper AI.

Through the partnership, both companies plan to expand on the integration between IBM Watson and Salesforce Service Cloud Einstein to bring new AI-driven recommendations to provide current customers with more personalized communication.

IBM also intends to build new IBM Watson Live Apps for the collaborative productivity software Quip, which Salesforce acquired in August 2016. These custom-built applications will be designed to increase the effectiveness of sales teams through the customer lifecycle.
