McCorkle stated via Twitter that he will be taking a break prior to beginning new employment.

In a statement, Salesforce noted that McCorkle’s successor will be Bob Stutz, the company’s current Chief Analytics Officer, who has been working at Salesforce since November 2015. Stutz has held previous senior-level marketing roles at companies such as Microsoft, HP Inc., SAP and Siebel Systems before it was acquired by Oracle in 2005.

The announcement ends McCorkle’s 11-year employment with the tech software giant. He joined ExactTarget in 2005 as the company’s President of Technology and Strategy. He succeeded ExactTarget Co-Founder Scott Dorsey as the company’s CEO in June 2014. In that same month, Salesforce announced that it would acquire ExactTarget for $2.5 billion, and McCorkle was named CEO of the newly christened Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
